Sephora Harmony
BEAUTY RETAIL
UX
ACADEMIC PROJECT
Sephora Harmony is proposed concept addressing a rising consumer concern by integrating product compatibility insights at the point of purchase and within the Sephora app; driving basket growth, reducing return rates, and deepening customer loyalty.

Developed as part of an Innovation module, this project explored how Sephora could strengthen its omnichannel retail strategy by embedding product compatibility insights across physical stores, the mobile app, and the Beauty Insider loyalty ecosystem. The goal was to deliver a more seamless and personalised in-store and digital experience.
Trend research and social listening revealed a recurring theme in beauty discussions around product incompatibility - customers questioning why foundations separate, why primers pill, or why routines don’t always work together across brands.
Sephora already excels at personalised in-store guidance. The opportunity was to extend that advisory strength beyond the beauty advisor and into the app and checkout experience.
The concept allowed customers to log products they own, receive compatibility feedback, and see prompts at self-checkout when linking their account. I also designed concept interfaces to demonstrate how the feature would integrate into Sephora’s app and checkout experience.
